Leave the Boy with Daddy and Look What Happens...

So this Father's Day, Mommy had to work most of the day. Thus, Brendan spent the day with his daddy. The boys went over to Grandma and Grandpa Pelhank's for Father's Day dinner. With more space to roam, Brendan apparently found it hard to control his excitement. The next time Mom saw her little man he was sporting his first shiner. A direct result of a face-to-face (or should we say face-to-case) encounter with a guitar case at high velocity.

It Pays to Be a Beagle Waiting Beneath A High Chair

Susan G. Komen for the Cure-2009

On June 13, we joined over 66,000 participants in the Race for the Cure. It's always such an amazing site to see how many people turn out to support a cause that effects so many of us. This year we joined the Scottrade team along with Grandma and Grandpa Cole, Johnny, J'me, Jaxon, Tory, Danny, and Robin (Danny's mom). The weather wasn't too bad...a little hot but it wasn't enough to make us miserable. And we think that Brendan enjoyed himself, although while in his stroller we kept hearing people say things like: "Isn't she cute?" or "How pretty is she?" Come on people...can't boys wear pink too?!

Almost a Walker!

Brendan is almost a walker. He gets braver by the day. And he has the bumps and bruises to prove it. Check out this video:

Birthday Wishes for Our Little Man...

To Our Precious Brendan,
(AKA. B, Bubba, Little Man, Boy-O, Sugar Bear, Mr. Mister)-

We cannot believe how far you've come. In this year, you have gone from a teeny, tiny helpless infant to a healthy little boy. It is so hard to believe that you are already one year old. And we know that like this one, each year will go by far too quickly. So we wanted to take a moment to let you know how much you are loved. You are so special. Your big, dimpled smile brightens our day. We love your hugs and kisses (messy though they may be). Each day you get a little bigger, and learn a little bit more. We are so proud of you! And we hope in the coming years that you will always know that we are here for you: to fix your boo-boos, to comfort you when you are sad, to laugh when you are a silly boy, and to teach you everything we can.

You have a lot ahead of you, so never hesitate to look to us if you have questions or need help with anything. You will have difficulties and fallouts with friends, but your parents and family will always be here for you as long as we are on this earth. Be excited about all the joys in life that await you. The painful things make the good things that much richer. Use every day to marvel at God's beauty and to learn from it. Be confident that you can do anything you want in this world, no matter how unbelievable it may sound to those around you with lack of vision. Someday, you will have the opportunity to make some beautiful woman happy. Make the most of it and remember to treat her like the princess she is. Love is the most important thing you can give, but it comes in many forms. Give of yourself; be a servant, to the special lady in your life as well as in your other relationships and live the life that God wants you to live. The difficult thing is finding out what that is....

You have a lot of good things going for you already Little Man, so don't ever be afraid. Know that whatever you do, no matter how you might perceive our reactions, we are proud of you. You could be the doorman at the Hilton or the President of Hilton, Industries and we will love you the same.

Happy 1st Birthday!
We Love You, Son.
