Change in the Decor

Anyone who has been to our house knows that we had a beautiful rug on our living room floor. Beautiful, but MESSY! The darn rug shed like crazy. For a little over 2 years I was hopeful that it would eventually stop (or at least lessen), but it was just not in the cards. And now that Brendan is crawling everywhere, the fuzzes were all over his little hands. And as everyone knows, those hands constantly make their way to babies' mouths...Yuck! I had to get rid of the thing. We decided to go with a much less aesthetically pleasing floor covering: bright rainbow-colored foam alphabet squares. So it's not pretty, but it completely eliminated those fuzzy hands, and it's great when he bonks his head--which still happens quite frequently. Brendan's favorite part...it's fun to chew on.

Brendan's First Trip to the Park

We had a 70-degree day on Monday this week. 70 degrees in February? Anyway, so I decided to take Brendan to the park for the first time. My friend, Michelle, came with. It was beautiful out, but it was EXTREMELY windy. He had so much fun, especially on the swings. I'm not sure it it was the swings themselves or if it was because the wind was blowing so hard that it kept taking his breath away. At any rate, we will be going back to the park as often as possible.

Mama's Helper

Brendan loves to help me fold laundry. When I shake out each shirt before it's folded it makes a "crack" sound and it creates a wind that takes Brendan's breath away. The combination of the sound and wind cracks him up. On this day, he crawled himself into a pile of clothes so I decided to help cover him up the rest of the way. He just laughed, and laughed. It made for some adorable photos. The other pics were just too cute not to post. No special occasion, just one of those cute outfits that you want to remember forever.

Funny Face

Lately Brendan has been making the funniest face. We have figured out that he gives the look for 2 reasons: 1) He's excited or 2) He's down-right angry. We have no idea where he learned it, but it's very difficult to catch on camera, especially the happy version. Every time I'd put the camera up he'd start laughing and the look was gone. We finally caught it though. See if you can figure out the happy from the mad.

First Big Snow

At the end of January, we got our first big snow of the year. We decided to take the boy out in it just to see how he'd react. Much to our disappointment, he really did not have much of a reaction at all. He was more mad than anything, because we bundled him all up. Ah well, here's the pictures anyway:
